The famous American singer, Cher, popularized the song “Believe”. This song was awarded multi-platinum and was globally number one during its time. In fact, the song won a Grammy Award and it is noted for its use of auto-tune on the vocals of the singers. The many call this pitch correction the Cher Effect.

“Believe” is very promising as a song because it was written by a number of legendary writers. They aer Brian Higgins, Timothy Powell, Matt Gray, Paul Barry, and Steven Torch. It was in 1998 that the song was released and recorded. Durign this year, the song hit number one in twenty-three countries around the world. On the first month of 1999, the song was included in the Billboard Hot 100 ranking 40^th , and in just two months, the song was already on its number one spot. During the song's popularity, Cher was known as the oldest female artist to perform this kind of song (at the age of 52).
